Portable Air Conditioners
Portable air conditioners need no permanent installation, which is exactly why they sell into rented properties, server rooms, marquees and any space where a split system cannot be fitted. The trade-off is efficiency: venting hot air through a window hose is inherently less effective than a split, and hose design matters more than most buyers realise.
Single Hose or Dual Hose
Single hose units exhaust room air outside, which pulls warm air in through every gap to replace it — simple and cheap, but noticeably less effective. Dual hose units draw condenser air from outside and are meaningfully more efficient, at higher cost. Check the refrigerant: R32 is replacing R410A across the market. Confirm the window kit suits the destination’s window styles, which vary far more than suppliers assume.
