Specifying an Air Conditioner

Refrigerant is the forward-looking decision: R32 has roughly a third the global warming potential of R410A and is where regulation is heading. Inverter or fixed speed depends on the market — inverters are far more efficient but their electronics are the first thing to fail where mains supply is unstable. For precision cooling, ignore comfort-unit specifications entirely; you need a high sensible heat ratio and tight control, not raw capacity.
