How It Works

How it works

From scattered listings to a shortlist you can defend

Sourcing HVACR equipment overseas fails in predictable places: specifications that are not comparable, approvals discovered too late, and freight that turns a cheap unit into an expensive one. HVACR Nexus is built around those four failure points rather than around a catalogue.

Search by application

Start from the application, not the part number. Every category page carries the whole range in that class, and scenario pages group the equipment a cold store, a kitchen or a poultry house actually needs together.

Also useful here: heat load, air change rate and heat loss calculators, so you arrive at a duty before you arrive at a supplier.

Compare like for like

Listings keep the manufacturer’s full specification rather than a summary, so airflow, pressure, voltage, material and approvals sit where you can line them up. Model codes are indexed, so a drawing reference finds the listing it belongs to.

Also useful here: the quote comparison tool normalises quotes that arrive on different Incoterms, carton sizes and efficiencies.

Send one enquiry

State the model or the duty, the quantity and the destination market. We check the specification against the listing before it reaches the manufacturer, so the reply comes back as a quotation rather than as three more questions.

Also useful here: compliance by market tells you which approvals to demand in the enquiry itself — the cheapest stage to discover them.

Decide on landed cost

The purchase price is not the number that matters. Freight on bulky equipment, duty, and the cost of an approval you did not ask for all land on the same invoice. Work them out before you commit, not after the container ships.

Also useful here: landed cost and container loading, which together tell you the order size that stops you paying to ship air.

What happens after you send an enquiry

The most common reason a sourcing enquiry goes nowhere is that nobody tells the buyer what to expect. This is the sequence.

  1. Same day

We read it before the supplier does

Your enquiry is checked against the listing: is the model still current, does the stated duty match the specification, does the destination market need an approval this model does not carry. Anything that would waste a round trip gets resolved here.

  2. 1 working day

It reaches the manufacturer with context

The enquiry goes out with your application, quantity band and destination attached, not just a model number. Suppliers quote differently — and faster — when they can see what the equipment is for.

  3. 2–5 working days

A quotation with lead time and terms

Unit price against your quantity, current lead time, Incoterm, packed carton dimensions and gross weight. Those last two matter as much as the price: they decide your freight cost and your real minimum order.

  4. Before you commit

    Verification and a trial order

Run an independent check on the supplier from their page here, ask for certificates naming your exact model, and name a third-party inspection in the purchase order. Start with a sample or a small trial run regardless of how the checks go.

What we can confirm, and what we cannot

A platform that implies it has vetted everything is not doing you a favour. This is the honest division.

What we can confirm

  • What each manufacturer actually lists here — how many products, in which categories, at what specifications.
  • That the specification shown is the manufacturer’s own, carried through rather than summarised.
  • Which model codes belong to which listing, so a drawing reference resolves to a real product.
  • That your enquiry has been checked against the listing before it was forwarded.

What we cannot

  • Whether a company is a real factory or a trading company presenting itself as one.
  • Whether a certificate it claims is valid, current, and issued against the model you intend to buy.
  • Its financial standing, or whether it will still be trading when your warranty matters.
  • Product quality. No listing substitutes for a sample in your hands.

Every supplier page carries a due-diligence check you can run yourself in an AI search tool, plus the questions worth putting to the supplier directly.

What it costs you

Nothing, as a buyer

Search, specifications, the calculators and sending enquiries are free and do not require an account. There is no charge for a quotation and no commission added to your price.

No exclusivity

Nothing here stops you approaching a manufacturer directly, and supplier pages link to the manufacturer’s own site where we have it. A directory that hides that is protecting itself, not you.

Listings are sourced, not paid placements

Ranking follows category and specification relevance. A supplier cannot buy a higher position, so a product appearing first means it matched, not that it paid.

Tell us what you need

Send the model or the duty, the quantity and the destination market. We check the specification and come back with pricing and lead time.
