Choosing a Heat Pump
R290 propane is where the European market is heading: a global warming potential of around three, better low-ambient performance, and eligibility for subsidy schemes that R410A units are losing. Monoblock keeps the whole refrigerant circuit in the outdoor unit, so installation needs no F-gas certified engineer — a large practical advantage. For cold climates, look for EVI (enhanced vapour injection), which holds capacity where an ordinary unit falls back on electric backup heat.
