Industrial Grade

Built for continuous industrial duty rather than intermittent domestic use. The differences that matter are bearing life, motor insulation class and the duty cycle the manufacturer will actually warrant.

“Industrial” is not a certification, so read it as a set of specifics rather than a grade. The ones that decide service life are bearing type and rated hours (ball bearings outlast sleeve bearings several times over at the same speed), motor insulation class, IP rating against the actual environment, and the duty cycle the manufacturer will put in writing. A unit rated for S1 continuous duty and one rated S3 intermittent can look identical in a listing.
