DC inverter units modulate compressor speed to match load instead of cycling, which is both far more efficient and much quieter once the room reaches setpoint. Fixed frequency costs less and has no inverter board to fail — a real consideration in markets with unstable mains. On refrigerant, R32 carries roughly a third the global warming potential of R410A and is where regulation is heading; specify it unless the destination market says otherwise.
