Impellers and housings moulded in PP, ABS, PVC or reinforced nylon. Plastic wins where corrosion kills metal — fume extraction, laboratory and marine air, condensate-heavy evaporator fans — and it is lighter, which matters for ceiling and duct mounting. The limit is temperature: most PP and ABS parts are rated to roughly 70–80 °C continuous, so they are not an option for kiln, oven or smoke-exhaust duty. Confirm the resin and its rating, not just “plastic”.
