The ADU Intelligent Temperature-Controlled Ventilated Floor, also known as the Air Distribution Unit (ADU), is primarily used in computer rooms with raised floors, working in conjunction with downflow computer room air conditioners. Multiple small EC fans are installed within the floor, intelligently and automatically adjusting their operating status based on the real-time temperature conditions above the floor. This allows for precise control of airflow, effectively maintaining a relatively constant and controllable temperature above the floor, and ultimately delivering more cooling capacity on demand to high-load areas of the computer room.
II. Working Principle
Temperature Monitoring: The ADU intelligent temperature-controlled ventilated floor is equipped with an external, highly sensitive temperature sensor that continuously monitors the temperature above the floor twice per second.
Intelligent Control: When the temperature above the floor is below the user-set lower limit, the floor enters a natural ventilation mode, with the fans remaining stationary. Natural airflow from the computer room air conditioner is sufficient to meet cooling needs. However, if the temperature above the floor rises above the set lower limit, the EC fans within the floor activate rapidly, increasing airflow and delivering more cooling to the cabinets to lower their temperatures. Air speed adjustment utilizes an advanced stepless speed control method, automatically and precisely adjusting the air speed based on the actual temperature difference between the cabinet and the set temperature. This ensures constant cabinet temperature while minimizing energy consumption, significantly improving energy efficiency. For example, when a cabinet's temperature rises due to increased workload, sensors quickly detect the temperature change and provide feedback to the control system. The system then immediately instructs the fans on the corresponding ADU floor to increase speed, increasing airflow and rapidly cooling the cabinet. Fan Control: The system typically uses multiple fans (e.g., 12 fans are common). The control system gradually increases or decreases the number of fans activated based on the temperature fluctuations in the upper compartment. As the temperature gradually rises, more fans are activated until all fans are operating at full capacity, maintaining the upper compartment temperature within the set range.
