YORK Heat Exchanger

An industrial heat exchanger is a crucial component in boiler systems for waste heat recovery. It captures thermal energy from hot exhaust gases (flue gases) before they are released into the atmosphere. This process significantly improves energy efficiency by transferring the recovered heat to a cooler fluid, such as water or air, which can then be reused within the facility. Consequently, it reduces fuel consumption, lowers operating costs, and minimizes the environmental impact of the boiler operation.

Working principle

The heat exchanger recovers waste heat to improve efficiency. Hot exhaust gases from the boiler, which would normally be lost, are passed through the exchanger. Cooler return water is circulated around the gas passages. Heat transfers from the hot gases to the cooler water, pre-heating it before it enters the boiler. This reduces the energy needed to heat the water, saving fuel.
