A regenerative electric heater utilizes the low-cost electricity during off-peak hours (typically from 10 PM to 7 AM the next day) in China, where electricity costs only $0.04 per kilowatt-hour in Beijing. It converts and stores electrical energy into thermal energy over a period of 6 to 8 hours. During peak demand periods, it releases this stored heat through radiation and convection, providing continuous indoor heating for 24 hours a day. The high-temperature resistant electric heating elements generate heat by warming specially designed regenerative materials—magnetic regenerative bricks with high specific heat capacity and density. These materials are then protected by high-temperature resistant, low-thermal-conductivity insulation to retain the stored heat. The release rate can be adjusted according to the user's preference, gradually releasing the stored heat. The amount of stored heat can also be manually regulated based on outdoor temperature. A steel-plated exterior not only protects the device but also enhances its appearance.
