Extract and supply fans designed for roof installation, with weather cowls and upstands. Common in warehouses, workshops and livestock buildings where wall space is unavailable.

Roof fans carry weather sealing and structural questions that wall units do not. Confirm the upstand height and flashing detail against the roof build-up, and whether the unit is rated for the local wind load. For extract from kitchens or process lines, also check the discharge direction — vertical discharge disperses better but needs the cowl to keep rain out, while horizontal discharge risks re-entrainment into nearby air intakes.
