Galvanized Steel

Zinc-coated steel — the standard casing material for ductwork, air handling units and roof fans. Ask which process: hot-dip galvanising puts on a much heavier, more durable layer than electro-galvanising, and the coating weight (Z140, Z275, Z350 g/m²) tells you far more about outdoor life than the word “galvanized” on its own. Z275 or heavier is normal for rooftop and outdoor installations; lighter grades are for indoor duct only.
