The basic structure of the plate heat exchanger
Plate heat exchanger is consist of corrugated metal plates with holes for the two heat transferfluid through. Two pressure plates hold the pressure pack together with tighteningbolts. Sealing gaskets sitting at the perimeter of plates guide the flow of fluid alternately to eachchannel. The plate and gasket material,size,quantity,etc are determined by the mediumflowrate,physical properties,pressure drop and temperature.Different design of corrugatedplate structure not only increases the turbulence, but also the support points between plateswhich can hold higher pressure.Plate pack and movable pressure plate are hanged in a carrying bar supported by a beam,with aguild bar at the bottom. Connection ports are at fixed pressure plate, also available at movablepressure plate with multiple passes design.
